Cycling at Alpharetta's Big Creek Greenway
Just one week after a small hike that I thought would mean that my family gave up outdoor activities for a year, we were out and about on a walk recommended to us by friends.
Big Creek Greenway is a cool find. Although walking alongside the river through the woods, the paths were very high quality concrete!
This allows you to cycle and skate through the scenery. In fact we saw very few actual walkers. Most at least had kids on bikes, as we did.
No hills made for easy cycling even for my three year old, Jesse, here looking like a cool dude.
Next weekend it's planned that I dig my bike out too, and mom straps on her rollerblades, so at least we'll be able to keep up with the kids.
I didn't see a map anywhere, but we found one loop that was just 0.5 mile.
Other paths seemed to head off to other parking areas along the river. One sign said 6 miles.
I didn't find an official map of the trails, but many personal websites can be found by searching for Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway.
The most useful site that has a map (of sorts) is a page on the Georgia Trails web site.
