The Fickle Pickle is a lovely quaint restaurant on Canton Street (half way up on the right, going North). Another of those converted old houses that businesses use now.
It's a gourmet sandwich bar more than a restaurant of course, but what sandwiches! Pickles with everything, but if you're not a pickle fan they don't ruin your sandwich by soaking your plate (and your sandwich) in the juice.
I tried the Cuban and a cup of clam chowder, my wife had a Turkey with salad. We were treating ourselves, so we had some hot potato chips and dip to start too, and a carrot cake cookie to finish.
It was worth the trip just for the cookie. They go fast, so make sure you grab one when you order.
Sweet Peach Tea was delicious too, it's the first time I've tried that.
There was no pressure to leave, so you could sit and chat while you relaxed after eating. My wife and I will certainly return!
